For millions around the the world, The Information Highway is beyond their reach. Some don't have the educational capability for reading technical instructions that are necessary for traveling on this highway. Others don't have required things like reliable electricity nor tools for connecting to the Internet.
Then there are instances where the people are too poor to afford things that are required for traveling on this technical highway. We also encounter situations where computer based technologies are changing too fast for them to keep up with The Increase Of Knowledge.
With all these, and other issues that millions around the world are facing, it is evident much needs to be done for bringing more people unto The Information Highway.
Since required tools are available for bringing more people into The Age Of Knowledge; and since it would be profitable for Web Marketers to have access to more customers from around the world; and since there is still The Great Divide of wealth, knowledge and information, it follows that there is a need for change.
A Call For A New Approach To Spreading Knowledge Globally
By its very structure, computer has grown beyond the practice of schools imparting knowledge with slates and exercise books. There is now a need for finding ways of instructing students from around the world with modern tools.
We need a meeting of the mind among computer manufactures, software developers, teachers around the world, Internet Marketers and those who have concern for the poor of the earth. Currently, it seems as though individuals are working by themselves in addressing the cry of the poor to be included on The Information Highway.
There is need for a movement to bring all the competing parties together and include The Neglected Majority in the journey towards human development. Reasons must be shown why it is in the mutual interest of all to bring more people into The Age Of Computer Based Knowledge.
Confronting The Absence Of The Evangelical Voice
As the poor of the earth clamor to be included in the advancement of knowledge; as many call for united approach to the issues of excluding the poor of the earth from The Economic Table; as many are making their voice heard with regards to personal development, input from most
evangelical churches seem to be absent.
Gone are the days when evangelicals could keep the poor silent by telling them of "Milk and honey," after death. The poor are questioning the sincerity of Privileged Bible Teachers who counsel them to embrace poverty.
In this Age Of Knowledge, the poor are asking how TRUTH, presented by evangelicals, equip and empower them to cope in the here and now. Thus, as A Concerned Lay Christian, of evangelical persuasion, I am calling for computer based tools to be applied for bringing millions into The Age Of Knowledge.
So far, I am making use of computer based tools for bringing the poor out of poverty. Just recently, I came across "All solution Network" ( http://tinyurl.com/yhcy482 ) with remarkable promise of empowering people to improve their lives. Churches should have something similar for informing the poor that The God Of Salvation, has provisions for addressing needs in the here and now.
